This Friday, we planned to go to sand dunes near Riyadh but everybody backed out. So we decided to explore a totally new Wadi / River bed. It is an extension of Taif Road, and in near future may be made a tarmac road. But it is a beautiful route with superb scenery and bird life. Imagine, I spotted a Hoopoe, which is not so commonly spotted near Riyadh. Vehicles with good ground clearance are a must to visit this area, though 4x4 is not needed. Since the entire route kisses the Wadi bed every now and then, expect a ride on thick pebbles interspersed with pointed stones. Posting below two more pictures for your enjoyment. We had a good Friday morning walk under a balmy Sun.
